"Wow. I don't even know where to begin. What you and your team did today went far beyond anything I could have expected, and I feel compelled to make sure you truly understand the impact it had.
Earlier today, I was scheduled to be a guest speaker on a McLean & Company webinar with hundreds of CHROs from around the globe. It was a highly anticipated session—heavily promoted, high stakes, and an important opportunity for me to represent both myself and their organization. With about 40 minutes to spare, fully prepared, I stepped out briefly to Madle's Ace Hardware just five minutes from my home.
When I returned to the car—with only 20 minutes before going live—my brand-new Volvo EX30 Cross Country would not unlock. Not with the key fob, not with the key card, nothing. My phone was locked inside the car. The panic was immediate and overwhelming.
In a last-ditch effort, I got a ride home and, with only minutes to spare before the session began, I called your front desk from my iPad with Wi-Fi calling. I explained the situation as quickly as I could, knowing I wouldn't be able to stay on the phone and the event was literally about to start as I was speaking.
