Volvo recently revealed that the automaker’s cutting-edge 2023 lineup in the United States includes only mild hybrid, hybrid, or electric models designed with Google built-in. With the deluxe XC90 and XC40 SUVs and also the V60 Cross Country now getting mild hybrid engines as standard, Volvo continues to emphasize its commitment to sustainability by electrifying its full range of vehicles. The company’s ambition shows yet another step toward developing only pure electric vehicles by 2030 and being carbon neutral by 2040.

U.S. customers will finally be able to find an electrified Volvo car to fit all their daily needs. For drivers without great access to charging, mild hybrids give you an increased efficiency boost over previous editions, yet still don’t need to be plugged in. Innovative extended range plug-in hybrids give you all-electric performance in Pure mode while still supporting you with a traditional gasoline-powered engine. And for those ready to leap directly into the future, the 402 horsepower, battery electric XC40 Recharge small luxury SUV and C40 Recharge luxury crossover offer zero tailpipe emissions.

Having Google built-in is part of every Volvo model’s range of features for the model year 2023. As innovative parts of the Google ecosystem, Volvo cars will provide a seamless transition between digital experiences at home and on the phone, letting customers bring their digital lives, and advanced personalization features, directly into their cars. With Google Assistant for voice control, Google Maps as the native navigation system, and the Google Play store for additional apps, each vehicle is designed with a top-rated digital experience.

The 2023 Volvo lineup is in production now and will begin arriving in retailers this summer.  More information about mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains can be found at, where customers will be able to order and reserve their ideal Volvo online.
