Volvo USA Honors Behind-the-Scenes Talent at The Oscars

Volvo Car USA recently paid tribute to the unsung heroes of the film industry, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that movies are created in a safe environment. In collaboration with Disney CreativeWorks, the car company created a 60-second custom creative to celebrate these professionals during the Oscars telecast on ABC this March.

Rather than hiring actors for the film, Volvo Car USA chose to showcase five talented individuals who played pivotal roles in the creation of some of the most beloved films of all time, including stunt performers, a best boy grip, and a lighting technician. The commercial was shot at Walt Disney Studios’ Golden Oak Ranch in Los Angeles and directed by Mikael Tyrsen, featuring cinematography by renowned director of photography Jeff Cronenweth.

The film highlights the human element of these professionals' stories and pays homage to their shared commitment to safety.

Also featured in the Oscars spot is Volvo Cars’ newest flagship fully electric SUV, the Volvo EX90. This seven-seater vehicle boasts the highest level of standard safety features of any Volvo car to date, representing a new era for safety for the company.
